Solukhumbu Trip of Team Nexer with Anil Pokhrel , अनिल पोखरेलसँग टोली नेक्सरको सोलुखुम्बु यात्रा

Hi there it’s me Anil Pokhrel and I am here to share with you my journey to Solukhumbu with my team. First let me introduce you with my team, Mr. Rabin BK , Mr. Bikram Bhurtel and Mr. Rabin Shrestha, Mr. Gagan Puri and Mr. Ashish Dahal. Traveling is the fun to us a lot and one of the most interesting things for me as well.

Visiting to a place which is famous not only within the country but globally all around the world has got a different feelings. Yes, I am talking about my trip to Solukhumbu, a place known for its beautiful mountains and waterfalls etc, which is located in the eastern part of Nepal. It was in the month of September, that we were about to have our dashain vacation. So we had made a plan to visit Solukhumbu, which has been our plan since last 2 years.

On September 28, we left Kathmandu from Chabahil at 5 o clock in the early morning. Moving through the different places like Bhaktapur, Dhulikhel and so on. We had a lot of fun in the way singing, eating and enjoying the outer nature view from the van. In the way We came across many rivers, waterfalls, mountains and so on. Crossing the rivers was a very frightful moments, looking at those vehicles crossing directly through the river. I could saw that it was becoming a lot difficult for vans to cross the river and extra tractors were being used to pull vehicles out of river. And such rivers were many over there in the way. So we reached a placed name Okhaldunga in between. The whether in Okhaldunga was amazing, we could see forest filled with white fog and smoke all over. The whether was too calm to keep our mind fresh and peace. In between I used to get wonder, are we at the heaven? Then I realized we were not at the heaven, instead it was the cloud that was below us and we could see no land from there.

We were about to reach Salleri, a famous place known in Solukhumbu which is a base start for Mount Everest Camp. We had planned to stay there in Salleri that night and continue our journey from there the very next morning to reach a place name “Mugli”, where we could reach to our friend Mr.Rabin BK house. But the things got all different and all our planned has to get change due to a moment that happen in a way in Sisneri. I can never ever forget that moment of night we spent over there. It turned out to be a challenge of life and dealth. It was around 5 o clock we were stuck in jam for around 2 hours in a huge forest. It was a night with no moonlight, completely dark outside. We saw that many people were returning back to Kathmandu after reaching almost to Solukhumbu. So, we wanted to see what was exactly happening there, so we got out from the van and went half an hour walking in front of all.

We found that a huge landslide was continuously falling down. It was bringing large stones with it. We waited a few hours more where people didn’t wanted to cross the road at that time and some even return back from there. But after waiting for few hours we decided that we should cross the road. But then some people stopped us and suggested that let the truck go first so that it can make the way out and even
more clear as well. So we agreed and asked the driver to back the vehicle and give side to truck first and then we will go behind it. As an when truck reached in the middle, a big stone fell from above and hit the truck. The size of the stone was as big as our jeep, and destructed that truck, People started again screeming and the driver of the truck was saved luckyly by running away from truck. There I realized that just a minute ago we were about to go before that truck and if we were in place of that then it would have been even difficult to find the bone of out body on that day.

So We decided that we are not going to move further. It was too cold there to stay the whole night so we requested driver to take us back and we shall stop where we will be able to see any village or town nearby. So after traveling 2 more hours back we reached a town name Ramite Bazar. After reaching there we knocked the door in almost every house but no one opened the door. The cold was increasing in the night and we were continuously banging the houses and even hotels there. Finally knocking for around 2 hours we got a space to stay at around 1 o clock in the mid night. We ate little of what we had there and sat over there with some other foreigners. We talked with one of the foreigners from Canada whose name was Mr. Richard Kennady. He was also stuck there with the same landslide, so he had came there in the evening itself. We managed to stay there for little of hours and we left that place in the early morning itself after a nice breakfast of boiled potatos that was really awesome.

The very next day we left that place in the early morning and decided to go tracking through a forest as we had only that as a option. People warned us there about the problems and difficulties we shall have to face if we go through that way, but we decided to face all those challenges. In the beginning it was nice tracking through mountains, waterfalls, rivers. But then slowly it was becoming difficult to accept challenges when there were no ways to move forwards and we were creating our own way through the long grasses all over. We knew the direction but didn’t know whether we were in a right path or not, still we increased our speed as it was about to go dark. We wanted to reach Nele bazar as soon as possible so that at least we could have some water and food there in hotels. So we reached Nele bazar in the evening and ate a lot. The hot samosas and spicy thuppa regained our energy. Without doing any delay we continued our journey again towards Mugli. We reached Mugli in the night at around 9 pm. We were glad to meet my friends family there. We were tired a lot so we slept that night after a nice dinner.

On september 30, The very next day we had a very special and unique form of tea called Nun chiya . It was a milk tea without actually having milk in it. I know its little confusing but that’s true. Actually people there make milk tea using wheat flour mixed with hot water and add nun and ghee in it, and that’s make a milk tea. After a nice breakfast we decided to go for a visit in a nearby areas itself. Our body was completely tired so we didn’t make any plan to go anywhere on that day so we went for fishing nearby and enjoyed in nearby areas. And at last in the evening we had a dance at home together and had a small party as well. We made lots of plan for further days and went for sleep.

On October 1, We started our next journey to Salleri which was our main destination after Mugli. We went further to Salleri and visited beautiful tombs and also saw Nepal’s one of the most dangerous airport where helicopter used to land with the people who wanted to go for Everest Camp. However we couldn’t make Everest camp because we had no much time left for our return journey to Kathmandu. We wanted to go to Dhudh Koshi river as well, and luckyly so we could make that also with the help of my friend’s brother in law whose house was close to Dodh Koshi in varleni. We went to his house that night and stayed there and had a nice party there as well.

On October 2, Brother in law took us to show us one of the biggest tunnel of nepal that was being in progress. And with that we reached to Dhudh Koshi in few hours with a help of truck. We enjoyed in bank of Dhudh Koshi for few hours and returned to varleni. After it took us almost a whole day to climb many mountains to reach back to Mugli.

On october 3, We packed our bags to return to kathmandu in a nearby known jeep. While returning we could saw many mountains filled with ice and only ice everywhere. It was such a amazing moments for me as well as my friends. We were back to Kathmandu by night in the same day at around 8pm.
The moments were too advanturous and challenging as well. What I found was that Accepting challenges matter a lot but when challenges itself become thrilling and frightful as well, that has a different experience in life. The waterfalls that I came across were countless and probably it was those waterfalls that helped us to accept challenges in the forest and made our days even more memorable

Simple Face Recognition Project using OpenCV python Deep Learning

Okay, not from completely scratch though, in this Article you are going to learn to build a simple face detection and recognition console based application using Opencv python and Deeplearning Before Starting: If you don't have enough time to read the whole article or you are too lazy to read articles  Scroll all the way down and there is source code at last heading Resources. If you really love to learn step by step, there are lots of comments inside the code. I highly recommand you to read and go through it And at last, Don't panic :D Lets start: Installing Libraries: dlib (by davis king) Face_recognition (by adam geitgey ) (wraps around dlib’s facial recognition functionality making it to work easily with dlib) we also need to install imutils. Actually imutils is used to make basic image processing functions such as translation, rotation, resizing, skeletonization, and displaying Matplotlib images easier with OpenCV but we will be using it to maintain di

Image Compression and Color Quantization using K-Means Clustering

In this post, you'll able to compress an image of higher size relatively to a smaller size. Here size I mean the image's memory consumption, not the aspect ratio (though it is also somewhat related to the size). Before we begin, let's be familiar with what Image Compression, Color Quantization and K-Means Clustering is. Basically  K-Means Clustering  is used to find the central value (centroid) for k  clusters of data. Then each data point is assigned to the cluster whose center is nearest to k . Then, a new centroid is calculated for each of the k  clusters based upon the data points that are assigned in that cluster. In our case, the data points will be Image pixels. Assuming that you know what pixels are, these pixels actually comprises of 3 channels, Red, Green and Blue . Each of these channels' have intensity ranging from 0 to 255, i.e., altogether 256. So as a whole, total number of colors in each pixel is, 256 x 256 x 256.  Each pixel(color) has 2^8 colors

Happiness Detection in Images using Keras

Hello folks! Are you happy or are you not sure? Alright, let's build a model that will help you find out if you're happy or not.  Well, let's start with some basic understanding of this tutorial and later dive deeper into the neural networks. We're very well known what  popular Computer Vision is. It is one of the most popular field of machine learning. Happiness Detection is also one of such field where we apply Computer Vision techniques. This is a binary classification type of problem where we'll building a model that will detect whether the input image is either smiling or not.   The dataset is already labeled as smiling or not smiling. We'll be using 600 images for training and 150 images as test dataset. Before we get our hands into the core part, let's first import some libraries. Now let's know more about the data.  After the execution, you'll be able to look at the number of data we've taken for training and testing the prepared model. N
